Kadima develops support groups as needs arise. Some groups are held at the Kadima administrative office in Southfield and others are held in partnership with local religious or community organizations.
Groups Open to the Community
Friends and Family Group
The Kadima Friends and Family Group provides support for caregivers that are taking care of a loved one who has a mental health challenge. The individual does not have to have a loved one as a Kadima client in order to participate. The Kadima Friends and Family Group provides an opportunity for parents, siblings, spouses, children and other caregivers to share their story and learn from others experiences. The group provides an opportunity to learn about Kadima’s services, as well as many other community resources.
The Kadima Friends and Family Group meets at Kadima on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Walk ins are welcome.
Kadima will begin offering Alcoholics Anonymous to the community. The group will start on December 15, 2016.
This group meets at Kadima every Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Transgender Teens and Young Adults: You are not alone.
In partnership with Temple Israel.
Transgender teens and young adults are welcome to join us for an informal, facilitated support session in a safe and warm environment. Please come and be yourself, talk about issues, have some pizza and meet your peers.
Meetings take place the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Temple Israel through May 2017.
