Eric joined Kadima in 2014 as its third Executive Director. Eric has over 15 years of non-profit management experience and he has used this experience to build a strong management team committed to Kadima’s vision, mission and values. During his tenure, Kadima has undergone significant changes in its service delivery model, business practices, community profile and development efforts which have strengthened the organization and will help to ensure that Kadima is able to fulfill its mission now and in the future. Eric has a BA in Judaic Studies from The George Washington University and a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Wayne State University. He has also studied abroad at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In 2014, Eric was recognized in the Crain’s 40 under 40.

Anita Mitchell joined Kadima in 2019 as the Director of Residential Services. Anita has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Michigan State and Master’s Degree in Management from Walsh College, and is currently working on a Doctorate in Public Administration. She has 25 years’ experience in human service in various forms including child and family services and behavioral health. The last 11 years have been concentrated in behavioral health administration in various residential and community living programs with Hope Network. Anita is also a CARF Surveyor (Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities).

Finance Director
Michelle Pezzotti, MSW

Michelle Pezzotti joined Kadima in 2019 as the Finance Director. Michelle has 25 years of experience in corporate, entrepreneurial, startup, and nonprofit accounting and business management. After earning her BA degree in accounting from Michigan State University, she spent time in the auto industry before cofounding her first construction company at the age of 23. She expanded her love of construction by opening a kitchen and bath design firm, a construction consulting company, and extended into real estate development. In the early 2000s, Michelle used her entrepreneurial expertise to join a start-up nanotechnology manufacturing company. What started as a three-person team evolved into a company with 3 facilities and over 100 employees, sold its product internationally, and was poised to go public. Michelle then decided to work in the nonprofit sector because it is a fulfilling intersection of her passion for profit-based finance and her passion mission-based organizations

Development Director
Michelle Malamis, MSW

Michelle joined Kadima in 2014 as its Development Director. She has over 16 years of experience in program development, marketing, volunteer management, grant writing, event planning and fund development. Michelle is responsible for all fundraising and marketing efforts at Kadima, as well as volunteer program development and event planning. Since joining Kadima, she has helped to raise awareness of Kadima in the community, build new partnerships and enhance all marketing, development and volunteer engagement efforts. Michelle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University with a focus on Community Organizing. She has a certification in Volunteer Management from Wayne State University.

 

Mary Orlando

Mary Orlando joined Kadima as the Director of Human Resources in January of 2019. She has nearly twenty years of experience as a Human Resources professional. She has worked in both corporate and non-profit organizations. While working in the HR profession, Mary focus was on management and leadership development and taught several college classes in leadership at Owens College. Mary has a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources from Spring Arbor University. In 2014, she earner her PHR certification from the Society of Human Resources.

Jonathan Modiano

Jonathan was installed as the Kadima Board President in 2018. He has been with UBS for 15 years and graduated from Western Michigan University, where he received his B.A. in Business Administration. After completing advanced studies, he received his Wealth Advisor designation. Jonathan has been named to UBS's Top 35 under 35 Financial Advisors (2016 and 2015). Through personal relationships, Jonathan understands well the importance of Kadima’s work in the community and is excited to continue to move the agency forward.
