Barbara works for Henry Ford Health System and served as a consultant for Kadima from June 2018 to April 2019 to help identify its key performance indicators and develop its “elevator pitch.”
I came across Kadima through Executive Director Eric Adelman and his fellow colleague who worked at Henry Ford. They were looking for someone who was interested in helping Kadima create a dashboard to track and share their key metrics.
I began helping Kadima develop its elevator pitch to share its offerings to those who know nothing about Kadima services. We wanted to identify ways the organization differentiates itself from others to show just how great it is through stories, data and metrics.
One of the key things we were really excited to articulate and put language around was how Kadima helps people with severe and persistent mental health challenges live more meaningful lives, doing so with greater independence.
Those in Kadima’s care are able to live a life where they feel respected, and that’s what everyone wants. And for me, the way the agency goes about doing so within the population it serves is truly unbelievable. The community Kadima provides and how its staff members treat those served is phenomenal, and the passion in which they do so is incredible.
In the coming years, through financial support and community awareness, my hope for Kadima is that it continues to meet the needs of the community.
In a time when the number of people living with severe mental health challenges who need help is increasing and related stigmas persist, Kadima now has metrics that represent and defend the safe haven it provides.
