As I started my last post right at the start of day one, without a clue of what I was in for, with four weeks of experience, I am still learning my way around. One thing I can say with absolute certainty is every single day is truly unpredictable. If you are anything like me, who has the attention span of a young child, unpredictable experiences are highly valued.

Day to day responsibilities vary, challenges arise, and no matter what, you do what you need to do. Not everybody can say one of their responsibilities is to play a game of pool with the clients of their organization…luckily I can. However, playing a game of pool is a responsibility that, of course, is more easily completed when you first learn how to play.

Monday through Friday, every single week, clients have the option to come to the Lois and Milton Y. Zussman Activity Center. The Activity Center is not just a place for clients to engage in amazing projects, play games, watch movies, etc., but also a place for employees to learn more about the clients and themselves. In the past week alone, I learned more about sports, classic literature, movie history and music than I had learned in my life up to this point, simply from sitting and speaking with one individual. I also learned some very helpful techniques when playing hangman and beginners tips on how to paint. My experiences are hard to put into words as they continue to get better day by day. Although for now, let’s just say each experience has been nothing short of life changing for me.
